Two days meeting of the National Executive of the Communist Party of India concluded here today, September 21, 2008. Veteran CPI leader from Assam Com. Pramod Gogoi presided.
Com. S. Sudhakar Reddy, Deputy General Secretary of the Party presented a report on recent political developments, both national and international.
The recent disclosures about the Indo-US nuclear deal has vividly shown that the Manmohan Singh government has misled the Indian people on each and every count. Even supply of fuel is only political commitment between leaders, in no way India will get the technology for enrichment and reprocessing, India has made multinational commitment to surrender its nuclear autonomy. India has committed to purchase nuclear technology and reactor from USA that means financing the dying US economy with lakhs of crores of rupees. The National Executive has endorsed the call for National Protest Day on September 25, the day Dr. Manmohan Singh is scheduled to sign the Nuclear Deal in Washington.
The NE has called upon the party units all over the country to immediately launch a campaign against communalism, on its own as well as in cooperation with Left and Secular Parties.
The NE also discussed the preparation for the state assembly in five states as well as for Lok Sabha.
The National Executive adopted resolutions on communal offensive, Delhi blasts, the crisis in US economy and its impact on India, floods in several states. (Resolutions are attached).
