Resolution

On Flood in Assam

The vast areas of Assam have been devastated by recent floods of the Brahmaoputra and its Tributaries. Millions of people have lost their houses, livestocks and paddy cultivation. They have to shift to safe places.

The Government of India has not yet dispatched any team to assess the devastation caused flood in the state nor the Prime Minister, who represents Assam in the Rajya Sabha, could find time to visits the devastated areas.

The National Executive of the Communist Party of India expresses its deep sympathy to the flood affected people of Assam and also demands:-

The government of India should dispatch a team to assess the devastation caused by flood;

• The government of India should sanction Rupees on thousand crore for relief and rehabilitation;

The Government of Assam should form All Parties Committees at state, district, and local levels to over see relief and rehabilitation works.
