COMMUNIST PARTY OF INDIA
National Executive Meeting, November 1-2, 2008
Ajoy Bhavan, 15-Com. Indrajit Gupta Marg, NEW DELHI
Resolution on:
ON REDUCTION OF PETROLEUM PRICE
The National Executive of CPI expresses its deep resentment at the refusal of the Government of India to reduce the domestic prices of petroleum products including cooking gas even after the international price of oil had dipped from 140 dollars per barrel to nearly 65 dollars per barrel. If increase in the international price was the reason for hiking the domestic price why the decline in the global price shall not be reflected in the domestic price level.
The communist Party of India demands immediate reduction of domestic price of petroleum products proportionate to the decline of the international price immediately. CPI believes that such a step will cool the market and moderate the inflation.
